This week’s conversation takes a question-and-answer format, offering a deeper look at the pastors’ approach to grace, discipleship, scripture, preaching, and service. Along the way, they reflect on Wesleyan theology, the balance between personal faith and social holiness, and the church’s call to serve the poor and marginalized with compassion and purpose.
Main questions discussed:• How do you define the role of grace in preaching and pastoral care? • What is your vision for helping this congregation make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world? • How do you live out our Wesleyan emphasis on piety and social holiness?• What does it mean to preach often and use words when necessary? • How do you approach the interpretation of scripture in teaching and preaching? • How can laity be encouraged to serve the poor and marginalized?

The Pastor Podcast
Even the best sermon can fade from memory given how busy we all are and how much information we process on a daily basis. The Pastor Podcast with Randy and Andy can help the sermons stick with us and promote our growth as disciples of Jesus Christ. The podcast does this two ways. First, Pastors Randy Moore and Andy Payton review the most recent sermon and delve deeper into its theme. Second, Randy and Andy preview the upcoming sermon. This gives the listener time to prepare for worship by prayerfully reading the text on which the sermon will be based. We invite you to join us each week on your favorite podcast platform.
